Slovak politicians condemn mass shootings in New Zealand

March 15th, 2019

Slovak politicians have condemned the mass shootings that took place in Christchurch, New Zealand and caused the deaths of 49 people. "Shocked and appalled by the acts of terror on innocent civilians in Christchurch. Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims. We wish a speedy recovery to those injured and strength to all the people of New Zealand at this difficult time," Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak said on Twitter. The opposition Ordinary People (OLaNO) and Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) parties also expressed their outrage at the attacks. Most-Hid said that "once again we are witness to what an extremist ideology full of anger can cause". "We dedicate a moment of silence to those who fell in the attack and we send our condolences to their relatives," the party said.
