The dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki is a living reminder for the present, and commemorating these attacks helps to achieve the goal of a world free of nuclear weapons, the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Thursday. The ministry, marking the 75th anniversary of these tragic events, added that the key focus of such efforts is to preserve and further bolster the existing disarmament architecture, whose core is the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
