Unless there is a change in the conditions for running and financing outpatient departments, outpatient care in Slovakia will come under threat within two to five years, said the Outpatient Health-care Providers Association (ZAP) on Friday. State-run health insurer Vseobecna zdravotna poistovna (VsZP) and ZAP have not concluded negotiations on the conditions of health-care provision. Member of ZAP's Board of Directors and representative of Specialised Outpatient Care (SAS) Peter Slezak told TASR that compared to what VsZP is currently offering, they want an increase in payments for outpatient departments by 10 percent.
