SaS to file criminal complaint over possible construction delay at EMO

April 8th, 2019

Liberal opposition party Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) on Monday announced that it will file a criminal complaint and convene a parliamentary committee session in response to another possible delay in the construction of the third and fourth reactor blocks at Mochovce nuclear power plant (EMO). According to SaS MP Jana Kissova, the party has information from both official and unofficial sources that EMO34 will not be completed on time and that the budget will need to be increased by at least 200 million euros. Kissova noted that electricity utility Slovenske elektrarne (SE) most recently told MPs that it would be comfortable with the current 5.4 billion euro budget for building both the third and fourth blocks.
