Special Prosecutor Dusan Kovacik should be deprived of top-level security screening, MP Alojz Baranik (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) and lawyer Marcel Suchar, who is running in the general election for SaS, told a news conference on Friday, adding that if Kovacik did not have the aforementioned screening, he could not serve as special prosecutor. SaS pointed to a final and valid verdict issued by the customs office according to which Dusan Kovacik broke the rules when he borrowed over 200,000 euros in cash from his brother Tibor. According to SaS, holders of top-level security screening cannot accept unauthorised payments like this loan. "Such a person should not be a holder of authorisation to familiarise himself with classified information," Suchar said.
