Ruling party has big lead in pre-election poll

October 11th, 2019

Poland's Law and Justice (PiS) ruling party enjoys 41.7 percent voter support ahead of the October 13 parliamentary elections, according to the results of a fresh survey by the IBRiS pollster, commissioned by the Rzeczpospolita daily. The Civic Coalition (KO), an electoral alliance that integrates the major opposition party Civic Platform (PO), Nowoczesna and local-government activists, would receive 22 percent support, according to the poll. The Left (Lewica) bloc, comprising Poland's liberal and left-wing parties, the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), Spring, and Together, would win 13.4 percent of the vote. The agrarian Polish People's Party (PSL)-Polish Coalition, comprising Kukiz'15, would also make it to parliament with 6.0 percent support.
