Only after the victories, in 2015, of Andzrej Duda in the presidential election and Law and Justice in the parliamentary elections was it shown that the security of Poland can be taken care of effectively, Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said on Friday. He also said that the previous ruling coalition, Civic Platform-Polish People's Party (PO-PSL), had not attached importance to the security of the country. Blaszczak made his comments in Suwalki, north-eastern Poland, where he attended a briefing on the development of the unit and garrison based there, and where he announced the decision to reshape the 14th Anti-Armour Artillery Squadron into the 14th Anti-Tank Artillery Regiment.
