February 10th, 2020
Opposition OLaNO party leader Igor Matovic on Monday unveiled more than 900 measures that make up the party's platform for the February 29 general election, describing what he views as the poor functioning of parliament, the courts, prosecutors' offices, the police force, regulatory authorities and the public sector as a threat to the rule of law and economic prosperity. As a matter of priority, OLaNO wants to change the election of the prosecutor-general in parliament from a secret to an open one, and to replace current Police Corps president Milan Lucansky, while changing the way in which the national police chief is selected as well. The current government changed the election method for the police chief only a year ago.
