Retail sales up 9.0 pc y/y in August - stats office

Poland's retail sales increased by 9.0 percent year on year and by 0.9 percent month on month in August 2018, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) announced on Friday. Economists polled by PAP expected June's retail sales to grow by 8.5 percent year on year and 1.2 percent month on month. In real terms, August's retail sales grew by 6.7 percent year on year, after a 7.1 percent increase in July.
