Opposition Ordinary People (OLaNO) caucus chair Veronika Remisova told a press conference on Thursday that she would not run in the upcoming Slovak presidential election, adding that she entered politics in order to make Slovakia a country without corruption and one where law and justice apply to everyone equally. "I respect the office of president, but the president from his post can't ensure that justice is in place, that the state functions better or that corruption is suppressed. He doesn't have the powers to do so at present. That can be achieved only in a new parliamentary election and with a new government," she said.
