Britain's Office for National Statistics (ONS) published its latest UK population estimates on Thursday, which show that a record number of Poles are living in the UK - 1,021 million, or 19,000 more than a year earlier. The figures are in contrast to reports that Poles in the UK are moving back to Poland as a result of Brexit. According to the ONS, Poles are the biggest national minority in the UK, overtaking citizens of Romania (411,000 - the highest rise over the year), Ireland (350,000), India (346,000) and Italy (297,000). Poles dominate in every region of the country, including in Scotland (99,000), Northern Ireland (29,000) and Wales (26,000).
