Rail transport near Krompachy partly resumed after serious accident

February 20th, 2019

Rail transport on one track was resumed on Wednesday after a freight train was derailed near Krompachy (Kosice region) railway station on Saturday evening, heavily damaging both tracks, rail infrastructure operator ZSR spokesman Michal Lukac told TASR. "ZSSK trains are currently setting off in line with the timetable, operating at a lower speed of 30 kilometres per hour along the critical section between Spisske Vlachy and Margecany," said Tomas Kovac, spokesman for state-owned passenger rail operator ZSSK.
