President Zeman appoints Dorfl as Prague High Court chairman

Czech President Milos Zeman appointed Lubos Dorfl the new chairman of the High Court in Prague today, with Dorfl taking up the post on January 2 and replacing Jaroslav Bures, whose seven-year tenure is expiring. Earlier this year, Dorfl won the competition the Justice Ministry launched for the soon-to-be-vacant post, defeating a single rival candidate, Prague High Court deputy chairman Jan Svacek.
