Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro has said that he and Poland's president "are in agreement on most basic issues and I hope the president signs the reforms of the Supreme Court and National Judicial Council". In an interview to public TV, Ziobro was asked about an ongoing dispute between the president and ruling party Law and Justice concerning the reforms. Ziobro said disputes "are the essence of democracy", adding that the differences concerned details. "We were at odds over the details; this happens in politics. It happens that family members argue. Maybe this is a sign to reset our communication", Ziobro told the TVP Info news channel. Ziobro said he trusted in the president's good intentions regarding the justice reforms, and stressed that he would like the changes in the judicial system to benefit all, "even if some solutions and compromises are not as perfect as they could have been".
