PPS Group Detva to shutter plant, lay off workers

The engineering company PPS Group Detva in the Banska Bystirica region has announced to halt production on April 9 and has notified the local social affairs and labour authority of laying off all 736 employees. The company cited a 25-percent drop in orders for the second and third quarters of 2020, as well as economic uncertainty due to the coronavirus epidemic, as a reason.
