Postponing presidential elections unconstitutional - ruling party head

April 3rd, 2020

Under Poland's constitution, presidential elections should be held as scheduled on May 10, ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski told public radio on Friday. According to Kaczynski, the conditions required to declare a state of emergency have not been fulfilled, and without a state of emergency, the elections cannot be legally postponed.
