Thursday's meeting with European Commission president-elect, Ursula von der Leyen, largely fulfilled Poland's expectations on a great number of matters, PM Mateusz Morawiecki said after the meeting in Warsaw. Morawiecki said he and von der Leyen discussed "a number of issues related to the functioning of each EU member state." "We have discussed them at a special moment," Morawiecki said, explaining he meant the formation of a new European Commission, which according to him "offers an additional chance for a new opening, for looking positively into the future." The PM said that "the whole conversation with Ursula von der Leyen was a discussion about the future, about the positive future for the EU and Poland, a key member state of the European Union." The subjects discussed included economy, migration, trade and social policy, Morawiecki said. "All the issues that we discussed were fully in line with our policies pursued in Poland," he added.
