Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Wednesday announced the government will offer special pensions to the families of five miners who were killed in the aftermath of a tremor that hit the Zofiówka coal mine in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, southern Poland, on May 5. "We join in the pain felt by the families and relatives of the victims," the prime minister said. Seven miners were left trapped 900 metres underground after the tremor. Rescuers managed to bring two of them to the surface alive. Two miners were found dead on Sunday, while three were missing. The body of the last miner was pulled to the surface at around 3am on Wednesday.
