The Labour Market Index (WRP), which predicts future changes in the level of unemployment in Poland, went up by 0.4 of a point in May, the Bureau for Investments and Economic Cycles (BIEC) said on Friday. A rising index indicates a deterioration in the labour market. BIEC said that this time of year usually sees increases in the gauge, which reflects seasonal factors such as lower inflow of new job offers or employment plans by company managers. Three components contributed to the index's growth, the strongest of them being the number of job offers registered at labour offices.
