Polish environment ministry says its policy in ancient forest legal

Poland's Environment Minister Jan Szyszko on Monday stated his ministry's activities in the primeval Bialowieza forest had been carried out for the good of the local community and in compliance with domestic law, as well as EU regulations. The official made the declaration on the eve of a hearing related to the Bialowieza issue before the European Court of Justice.
