Polish Deputy PM and Culture Minister Piotr Glinski took part in the Monday opening of the 58th plenary session of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva. Addressing the meeting, Glinski stressed that the Polish government attaches similar significance to innovativeness and creativity as did the founding fathers of Poland's independence. "The protection of intellectual property is of special importance for us," Glinski said. One hundred years ago Poland presented the view that independence goes hand-in-hand with an innovative economy and the development of national culture based on an international system of intellectual property protection adding that this position remained unchanged over the past 100 years, he said.
