The government has proposed Poland's minimum wage should be raised to PLN 2,220 (EUR 518) in 2019 from PLN 2,100 (EUR 490) in 2018, Deputy Labour Minister Stanisław Szwed told PAP on Thursday. The hourly minimum wage is to be increased to PLN 14.50 (EUR 3.38) from PLN 13.70 (EUR 3.19). The proposal will now be discussed by representatives of Polish employers and trade unions within the Council for Social Dialogue format. The tri-lateral body comprises representatives of the government, business owners and employees. The PLN 2,100 figure constitutes 47.3 percent of the forecast average wage in the national economy in 2018.
