Police are looking into comments made by Smer-SD MPs last week in which they said that they agree with the statements for which their party leader Robert Fico has been charged, Police Corps spokesman Michal Slivka told TASR on Monday. "The police are dealing with the statements and will decide on further procedures after analysing them," said Slivka when asked by TASR about a news conference last Thursday at which Smer-SD MPs said that they stand behind Fico, as they think the same as him. An investigator of the National Crime Agency (NAKA) pressed charges against Fico for what he said about former LSNS MP Milan Mazurek's conviction for his statements on Roma. Fico has been charged with defaming a race, nation and belief, for inciting national, racial and ethnic hatred and endorsing a crime.
