Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz told a public TV channel on Monday that Russia should observe the standards of the Council of Europe and that Poland would demand the maintenance of sanctions and adherence to the Council's principles. Last week in Strasbourg, Russia had its voting rights at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) reinstated, having previously had them suspended over the 2014 annexation of Crimea. As a sign of protest, seven states - Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Georgia and Slovakia - left the PACE meeting.
