February 19th, 2018
The welfare index reflecting the economic condition of Polish society in February 2018 went down by 2.3 points month-on-month, the biggest single drop in five years, the Bureau for Investments and Economic Cycles (BIEC) said on Monday. "Employment is still rising, but at a slightly slower pace than in previous months. Its slower growth is probably due to the lack of manpower corresponding to the needs of employers. They are offering higher and higher salaries, but their expectations regarding the qualifications of employees are also growing," BIEC said in a report. "Therefore, it is difficult to find suitable candidates for the jobs," the report read.
