Poland will take over the Visegrad Group's rotating presidency from the Czech Republic on July 1. It will be officially inaugurated by the group's foreign ministers in Wadowice, southern Poland, on July 7. The announcement was made on Thursday by a spokesperson of the Wadowice mayor's office Malgorzata Targosz-Storch. Wadowice is the birthplace of Karol Wojtyla, who later became Pope John Paul II. "A plenary session of the foreign ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, the four member-states of the Visegrad Group (V4), will be held in the birthplace of the pope. Our guests will also commemorate the centenary of the birth of St. John Paul II," she said.
