Poland to increase its presence in UN peacekeeping missions

Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz, in New York for a meeting of the UN Security Council, has said that Poland plans to expand its participation in UN missions. Polish soldiers would return to the UN peacekeeping mission (UNIFIL) operating in southern Lebanon since 1978. "It concerns just over 200 soldiers who could contribute to bringing peace and ensuring security in the Middle East as part of this operation," said the minister. "This is not a significant share, but this will be our return. After a long break, the first Polish soldiers will return to the Middle East," Czaputowicz added.
