Poland "continues to regard Tel Aviv as the capital of Israel", Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said in Brussels on Wednesday, commenting on plans to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem that have caused widespread controversy. "It seems that ... President Trump is preparing for some statement on Jerusalem. It is a delicate issue", Witold Waszczykowski said. "I can only say that even in the United States, there have been discussions on the issue and they may well continue until the last moment before Donald Trump's speech", the foreign minister noted. "That's where we have our embassy. But we do realise that Israel's main institutions are located in Jerusalem", Poland's top diplomat added, stressing that Poland was interested in the success of the Middle East peace process, which could be achieved by bilateral negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
