Poland's jobless rate could fall to 12.6 pct in May - official

May 15th, 2012

Poland's unemployment rate could go down to 12.6 percent in May from 13 percent in April, Deputy Labour Minister Jacek Mecina told reporters on Tuesday. "Unemployment should be going down in the coming months. Poland experiences strong structural swings in unemployment and we can see some sectors revive, i.e. tourism, gardening and construction. I believe the decrease in unemployment will be stronger in May than in April. The unemployment rate may reach about 12.6 percent," Mecina said.
