Before his Wednesday visit to the White House, Polish President Andrzej Duda conducted talks in Vilnius, while his top aide Krzysztof Szczerski had meetings in Kiev and is due to talk with US National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien, Szczerski told PAP on Tuesday. According to Szczerski, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda asked Duda to present in Washington the position of both countries regarding regional security. Duda is also to appeal, on behalf of both countries, for bolstering the US military presence in Europe. Szczerski said talks with the Ukrainian side were similar to those held with Lithuania. "The Ukrainian side has asked to raise the issue of security in Ukraine and the fact that Ukraine wants to develop cooperation with NATO and the US," Szczerski said.
