Poland has been considering the United Kingdom's proposal to set up a naval mission in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard navigation in the crucial sea transport route, Polish Foreign Ministry has said on Twitter. The idea was put forward on Monday by British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt after Iran captured the British tanker Stena Impero on the sea route on Friday. Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki said on Thursday afternoon that it is too early to say anything concrete on the issue. He added that the question of sending a Polish mission to the Persian Gulf or the Middle East had not been discussed during his Warsaw talks with European Commission president-elect, Ursula von der Leyen. According to the Reuters news agency, the UK's idea has so far been supported by Denmark, France, Italy and the Netherlands, with Germany, Poland, Spain and Sweden expressing interest.
