EC Justice Commissioner Vera Jourova admitted on Thursday that the EC on Wednesday discussed Poland's case in connection with its amendments to the law on the Polish Supreme Court, but had taken no decision regarding a complaint with the EU Court of Justice. Commissioner Jourova said that the EC carefully listened to what the EC Vice-President, Frans Timmermans, had to say about the situation in Poland (...). She added they also spoke about article 7, about the sitting, during which the Polish authorities answered questions regarding the matter, and about possible steps, but stressed that no decision had been taken. Alexander Winterstein, the EC's deputy chief spokesman, told a press conference in Brussels on Wednesday that "the College has not taken any decisions concerning infringement."
