Poland has the worst air quality in the European Union, head of the Polish Supreme Audit Office (NIK) Krzysztof Kwiatkowski said on Friday, on the sidelines of the UN climate summit held in the southern Polish city of Katowice. Kwiatkowski cited a recent audit as saying that Poland has the highest benzopyrene levels among the member states and one of the highest ratio of air-borne particulates. Of the 50 most polluted European cities, 36 are Polish, the audit said.
