Czech PM Andrej Babis faces a conflict of interest over the prevailing links to his former firms in the Agrofert group, according to an audit that the European Commission (EC) sent to Czech authorities, the financial paper Hospodarske noviny (HN) writes on its website today. Brussels demands that all EU subsidies Agrofert received from February 2017 be returned. Babis owned the giant chemical, agricultural, food and media holding until 2017 when, in his then capacity as finance minister, he transferred it to trust funds to comply with the Czech conflict of interest law.
