Prime ministerial aide Michal Dworczyk and Swedish Ambassador to Poland Stefan Gullgren met on Monday to discuss the environmental implications of Warsaw's ongoing sewage crisis. In late August the breakdown of two collectors channeling sewage from left-bank Warsaw to a plant on the opposite bank of the Vistula caused vast amounts of sewage to spill into the river. Since last Monday sewage is being syphoned off via an emergency pipeline laid on a pontoon bridge across the Vistula.
