The Plzen zoo has for the first time successfully raised young Atlantic bushmasters, a strongly endangered venomous snake that is the biggest in the viperidae family, curator Jan Dohnal has told CTK, adding that the zoo is the second in Europe to achieve this. In Europe, six facilities keep bushmasters now. The first of them to succeed in their breeding was the Randers Regnskov zoo in Denmark. The species is also popular with private keepers.
