Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), part of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), and Raytheon Integrated Systems have signed an agreement opening the way for production and integration of 16 Patriot anti-missile and air defence launchers, PGZ announced on Thursday. In the coming months, the agreement will be made available for audit and acceptance within the framework of the US's Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process, applicable to the Patriot contract. Poland bought the system in March last year as part of the Wisła medium-range air defence programme, which is divided into two stages. In the first stage, HSW and other companies making up part of PGZ are to receive technology and know-how enabling significant participation in the production of the launchers and their components. "The batteries delivered to Poland will be equipped with launchers, which will come from the national defence industry," PGZ said.
