Slovakia is ready to provide police officers and equipment to protect the European Union's borders against an expected migration wave, Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said after an extraordinary summit of the Visegrad Group (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) in Prague on Wednesday. If Greece is not able to cope with the situation, a "serious security risk" will emerge for several European countries, said Pellegrini. "Slovakia will carefully protect the eastern Schengen border with Ukraine," Pellegrini said. He added that if asked by Hungary, Slovakia would be ready to send its officers and equipment to help Hungary protect the southern Schengen border.
