Farmers affected by extreme drought in 2017, which resulted in as high as 70 percent losses in yields, will receive funds in January 2019, with Agriculture Minister Gabriela Matecna being given a mandate to start fixing the damage caused by the drought, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said on Wednesday after a cabinet meeting. The ministers approved at their session material submitted by the Agriculture Ministry evaluating losses on agricultural crops due to the drought in 2017.
