Parliament to decide on retirement age caps in constitution in 2019

December 6th, 2018

Parliament will decide on capping the retirement age at 64 as late as at the New Year's parliamentary session after it was agreed on Thursday to postpone the vote on this item, TASR learnt on the same day. The vote on the retirement age cap has already been moved once, from the previous session in October to the current one. The postponement of the vote to the next parliamentary session, scheduled to start on January 29, 2019, was proposed by Smer-SD MP Jan Podmanicky via a procedural proposal. He did so on behalf of the three coalition caucuses of Smer-SD, the Slovak National Party (SNS) and Most-Hid.
