Orban promises pay rise for GPs, teachers

May 17th, 2013

Pay rise for GPs and teachers, and the launch of a demography programme are among the tasks of the upcoming period, Prime Minister Viktor Orban told public Kossuth Radio on Friday. Commenting on the GDP figures announced on Wednesday, Orban said Hungary is performing better but not yet well enough. He reiterated that the government is unwilling to introduce austerity measures asked by the European Union. The current dispute between Brussels and Hungary results from international companies lobbying in Brussels to have the Hungarian government withdraw several of its measures.
