One miner was killed and eight were injured as a result of a strong underground tremor in a mine in Poland's southern region of Silesia on Tuesday night, the State Mining Authority announced. The tremor occurred 1,200 metres underground in the Rydułtowy mine. Two injured miners have been hospitalised. Six have already been released from hospital. This has been the fifth fatal victim in the Polish mining industry this year.
