More than one fifth of young people, or approximately 300,000, in the Czech Republic are threatened by poverty, representatives of the Czech Caritas organisation said today, presenting the results of a survey that the Median agency conducted. "We can see people getting poor in their youth and being incapable of improving their situation. A whole generation is growing up like this. This is a high risk for society because these people remain excluded for their whole lives. It is an economic and moral burden," Martina Veverkova, from Czech Caritas, said.
