NATO faces new challenges such as the ever more assertive Russia, instability in the Middle East and North Africa, terrorism, cyber attacks and mass destruction weapons proliferation and no country can fight them alone, NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller said in Prague today. Attending the celebration marking the 20th anniversary of Czech accession to NATO at Prague Castle, Gottemoeller praised the Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Polish militaries, calling them very strong and committed allies. She acknowledged the countries' rising defence spendings and active participation.
