The easiest solution to Czech PM Andrej Babis's (ANO) alleged conflict of interest would be if the firms of the Agrofert group, which Babis transferred to trust funds in 2017, stopped receiving EU subsidies, Transparency International (TI) representatives told reporters today. The TI asked the European Commission (EC) in September to investigate Babis's suspected conflict of interest regarding EU subsidies. The TI does not expect the EC to publish its final decision before April, the deadline set by budget commissioner Gunther Oettinger.
