State aid doesn't reduce regional disparities or support the least-developed regions; moreover, the investment aid scheme doesn't have concept management and no measurable indicators of aid benefits have been set, TASR learnt from an analysis conducted by the Supreme Audit Office (NKU), which inspected how investment aid is used in Slovakia. The analysis noted that the level of investment aid over a ten-year period (2008-17) didn't clearly reduce regional disparities or support less-developed regions. At the same time, NKU stated that the two least developed regions (Banska Bystrica and Presov) drew the lowest investment aid per capita, while posting the highest unemployment rates for 2008-17.
