Most-Hid, SMK rule out merger

July 11th, 2019

Delegations of the ethnic-Hungarian Most-Hid and SMK-MKP parties at their first talks agreed that they would not form a joint party before the 2020 general election and would not run jointly on the Most-Hid slate, either, Most-Hid's press department told TASR on Thursday. However, the parties want to continue holding talks on other options, such as a coalition. The two parties also agreed that preserving the identities and basic principles of the parties is a basic precondition for cooperation.
