MEPs call for EC's resolute reaction to Turow mine issue

The EP petition committee on Tuesday discussed a protest petition of people from the Czech Liberec Region, which borders on Poland, and called on the European Commission to toughen its approach to Poland over its plan to extend mining in the Turow coal mine near the border. The Liberec Region inhabitants complain that the brown coal mine's operation has stripped them of drinking water.
