February 21st, 2020
The memory of journalist Jan Kuciak and his bride-to-be Martina Kusnirova, who were both murdered two years ago, was honoured on SNP Square in Bratislava by 15 ambassadors from various countries, including the USA, the UK, Germany, France and Canada. The couple was murdered on February 21, 2018 in their home at Velka Maca. Their murder caused a wave of massive protests in the country, demanding a decent Slovakia. As a result, then prime minister Robert Fico stepped down and his cabinet was replaced by that of current Premier Peter Pellegrini.
