The number of the Czech health professionals who have tested positive for Covid-19 doubled in a week from October 3, rising from 2,480 to 4,432, and in total, more than 7,000 medical professionals have been infected since the epidemic outbreak, data from the Czech Medical Chamber show. Among the infected, there have been 978 doctors and 1,862 nurses, while the rest are other health-care professionals. Health Minister Roman Prymula said that one in ten currently positive doctors and 17 percent of nurses had got infected at work. According to the Czech Statistical Office (CSU), the Czech Republic has 50,000 doctors and 117,000 other health-care workers.
